-Larry is born to Larry Odell and Jolene Freeze Perkins, and goes to church with mother who is the church pianist at the Christy Street United Methodist Church
-Larry is given his first guitar as a teenager and washes dishes all summer to pay for his first banjo,
after being inspired to play by his Uncle Harley.
-Neighbor Wade Garrett spends countless Sunday afternoons after church and Sunday dinner playing and letting Larry play his old Gibson Mastertone
-Larry meets Earl Scruggs in 1977 at the Winston Salem, NC Carolina Street Scene Festival.
-Larry performed and records with Curly Seckler, Willis Spear and the Nashville Grass in the early 1980's.

-'A Touch of the Past' -- is the IBMA's "Recorded Event of the Year" in 1993.

-Larry's second 'solo cd' "A Glad Reunion Day" is completed featuring Doc Watson, John Hartford, Jimmy Martin, Bashful Brother Oswald, Uncle Josh Graves, Benny Martin, Leroy Troy, Val Storey, and many others
-Larry co-produces and plays on Ginger Boatwrights gospel cd entitled "Inside The Gate" with Kurt Storey and guest Buck White, Buddy Spicher, Terry Eldredge, Chris Sharp, Richard Bailey, Rachel Barton, Tater Tate, Kathy Chiavola, Butch Robbins, and many others..
-Larry tours with Jerry and Tammy Sullivan and records the Marty Stuart produced cd "Tomorrow" with them
-Larry toured with the John Hartford Stringband for several years, and recorded "Good Old Boys", the Grammy nominated "Hamilton Ironworks",
and "A Tribute To John Hartford" with John and the band
-Larry performed with the Hartford Stringband on the "Down from the Mountain" project, and also appeared in the movie.
- Larry signed a songwriting contract with Mimosa Publishing in Nashville, Tennessee, founded by bass legend Bob Moore and his wife, Kittra.
-Larry appears in the PBS Special "The Carter Family An American Family Experience" as Leslie Riddle.
-Larry now resides in Nashville, TN .working on personal projects and doing sessions
-Larry co-produced Curly Secklers new cd "Down In Caroline" that is nominated in the "Recorded Event Of The Year" category by the IBMA 2006
-Larry co-produced Copper Creeks new Curly Seckler cd entitled "Bluegrass Don't You Know"
-Larry is set to release "It's Never Too Late" co-produced with Chuck Turner. "It's Never 2 Late" is mostly songs penned by Larry and performed with great guest artist
