"The Crack Hotel" is a true story that
turned itself into a song in about
ten minutes...
Based on my experiences there- I would
strongly advise anyone to stay
from such places.....
"I spent the night in a crack hotel
I was scared as I could be
they were selling dope in the parking lot
but they wouldn't sell none to me
like ghost they slipped from room to room
and then came out again
that stuff them boys stick up their nose-
no tellin' where it's been
they lick their lips they grind their teeth
they jump at every sound
they smoke them pipes and get real high
and then come crashin' down
Tony Harrell on piano and Laura Weber Cash with her fiddlle
the folks that rent these rooms out here
I can't tell where they're from
I know they aint from Bowling Green
Nashville or Madison
they told me when I checked in here
that check out's at eleven
but they started pounding on my door
before it was even seven
the crack hotel is all run down
it's cheaper than the rest
you may think you got a deal
but every thing's a mess
banjo.....
the rooms smell bad the carpet's stained
the paint's pealed from the wall
the bed and bathroom look as if
they aint been cleaned at all
a fools advise I'll offer you-
AVOID THE CRACK HOTEL!!!
you'll have no peace you'll get no rest
you'll feel like you're in hell
at dawns first light I'll make my move
make good my get away
and if I do I promise you
I won't come back this way....
